Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about stucco repair, water leaks, and working with HomePRO.
How do I know if my stucco home has a water leak?
Common signs include staining or bubbling paint on interior walls, cracks in the stucco, soft or spongy areas, a musty smell, or visible moisture near windows and doors. Because water travels behind the wall, damage is often worse than it appears, and leaks can go on for years before showing inside the home. An accurate professional diagnosis is the essential first step.
Why does stucco leak if it is supposed to be waterproof?
Stucco is not actually waterproof. The water-resistant barrier is underneath the stucco and consists of building paper and flashing that also acts as a drainage plane. When that paper or flashing is installed incorrectly or becomes damaged, water can enter the wall cavity and the interior of the home.
What services does HomePRO specialize in?
HomePRO specializes in stucco repair, water leak detection and repair, dry rot repair, stucco inspections, and related exterior repairs. Water intrusion on stucco homes is our core expertise — we are specialists, not general remodelers.
What areas do you serve?
We serve 33 communities across the greater Sacramento region, from Lodi in the south to Lincoln in the north, Davis and Woodland to the west, Placerville along Highway 50, and Meadow Vista along Interstate 80. Our service area spans Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo, and San Joaquin counties.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. HomePRO is a licensed California General Contractor (CSLB License #722686), in business since 1996. Being a General Contractor matters for this work: water damage repairs frequently involve structural framing, which requires a properly licensed contractor.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Our skilled and experienced HomePRO employees perform the work — journeymen who are experts in all phases of stucco and water damage repair. This is how we maintain quality and accountability.
How much does a stucco or water leak repair cost?
Every repair is different because the extent of hidden damage varies. We inspect the issue, explain what we find, and give you a clear, honest written estimate before any work begins. Small crack repairs cost far less than structural water damage repairs — which is why early diagnosis saves money.
Can you match my existing stucco texture?
Yes. Texture matching is one of our defining skills. We replicate dash, lace, sand, smooth, and custom textures so repairs blend invisibly with the existing wall.
